It was founded in 1943 and is among the oldest institutions located in Guwahati, Assam. B. Borooah College was one of the earliest colleges chartered located in Guwahati, Assam, named in honor of the famous and well-known Assamese businessman Bholanath Borooah.  

B. Borooah College is associated with Gauhati University and is accredited by NAAC with an A Grade. B. Borooah University Guwahati allows admission to undergraduate programs of B.A, B.Sc, and BBA as well as postgraduate courses such as M.Sc.
